Israel and The NRA

NRA CEO, Wayne LaPierre, seems to have put his foot in his mouth by calling for armed guards in all schools. I can see how the statement was taking out of context, since we have had armed police in the local school district for years. Now the NRA big boss may have made another statement that has gotten him in a bit more heat.
He appeared on Meet The Press on Sunday, and dropped yet another bomb that got a quick reply. From Israel!
He stated that Israel had a lot of school shootings, which stopped when they put armed guards in schools. Although the statement is true, Israel tells him not to compare terrorism to a deranged killer.
Really? Since terrorists aren't deranged, I guess there is a difference. Israel claims their last shooting was political in that terrorists wanted hostages to negotiate the release of fellow terrorists.
Regardless of the motive, and the heat LaPierre is catching, his point is still right on. Israel might want to distance itself from such statements, but I guess things happen for a reason depending on your perception.
