Attention-Getting Lawsuits

September 28th 2008 20:19
There are a number of ever increasing lawsuits to draw attention to one's causes. Usually they involve prisoners suing over prison conditions. Now they are about religious rights that interfere with job performance. Even though many want the separation of church and state, some may see an obvious exception to the rule. A loophole, if you will.

If a job involves doing something that goes against your religion, why would you want to work there to begin with? If you have to work on Sunday and that is a strict day of worship, why take the job? If you work in a pig slaughter house, and pigs are against your religion, why take the job?

Imagine the forgotten. Those that have to do the job of others because they refuse due to religious beliefs. Some are just hypocrits and are looking for a way to get out of work. While others are orchestrating a silent agenda.

A Muslim sues over handling alcohol. It's simply outrageous and funny, because in the USA, Muslim stores sell cheap beer and other alcoholic beverages. They seem to have no problem handling alcohol in their stores, but someone has trouble with a forklift in a chain store? No double-standards here, move on citizen!

Then there are the "How dare you say I'm a threat because I have high clearance and voice my opinion about America."The US seems justified in firing a Muslim scientist. The US is willing to fight to prove its point. That should give a hint.

I think that these allegations are bogus. One should ask why if conditions were so bad, why didn't they just leave and file a lawsuit? Why did they file after the firing and non-renewal of contract?

Testing The System by Playing Stupid

September 26th 2008 23:43
She didn't think it would cause a fuss. A woman carried a WWII bomb on a jet. It evacuated an airport and had to be destroyed in a controlled explosion. Yet the woman pleads stupidity and is set free?

What is wrong with this picture? From my point of view, the woman was testing the system. She may have been attempting to see how far and how much she could get away with. This will never happen in our world.

Continue to dream...

Self Fulfilling Prophesy

September 20th 2008 22:37
I told you!

You have to understand that I really have no affiliation to ANY party, just the candidate and their views. I've voted for the candidate that I felt was worthy. I usually am not persuaded by the rhetoric or hype, nor am I swayed by opinions or views of others. Politics and religion are usually heated discussions because people are fanatics about their beliefs.

I said and I repeat...neither candidate is worthy as far as I am concerned. I never liked Biden, but at least I knew him. Palin came from nowhere...sort of like Obama...and is suddenly popular. Remember folks, bad publicity is great publicity. Have we learned nothing!!!! How many of us go see a stupid movie just because the 'Christians' don't want us to because it offends them?

Works every time!

Now back to that racism entry. Read this. In case you missed it, the KEYWORD is 'Democrats'!

But Obama is seeing things from both sides.

He got heckled by African-American protestors.

Now Personally, I am tired of hearing what a great hero McCain is. We are aware of this. It is fine and good, but years ago McCain offended many conservatives. Vice Presidents are of no interest to me and are only meant to gather votes from key states.

Other war heroes that became Presidents were Ulysses S Grant and our beloved John F Kennedy.

Racism Today

September 17th 2008 23:25
Does racism exist today? That has to be the dumbest question ever asked, because racism is alive and well today. The thing is, why does the cycle seem to never end?

I guess it depends on who you ask about white privilege and black dependency. Perhaps this arguement is expected to never end. Or maybe slowly but surely it is getting better. Racism isn't what it was 50 years ago, or 40, or 30, etc., and it certainly isn't like the 16-1800s in the USA

Protection From Ourselves

September 14th 2008 16:32
We are such a litigious society, that frivolous lawsuits are common. There are lawsuits by inmates in jails over being served crunchy instead of smooth peanut butter. A bus pulls out of its station and has an accident with no passengers on board, yet there are dozens of lawsuits of people claiming they were hurt on that bus. We sue for being bullied. We sue over anything and everything. It was only a matter of time before we started suing over our own stupidity.

Now there have been many lawsuits over getting hurt by ones own stupidity, but now there is one that takes the cake. A man is suing Amtrak, because they didn't do enough to keep his drunk butt safe from harm

Upscale Bums

September 14th 2008 14:16
Being homeless in America is a tragedy. Pride and dignity are washed out the window. In today's market it seems like the homeless in America are ever growing. Surviving can lead to unforeseen dangers. It's not a pretty site.

In my quest to survive if I were ever suddenly made homeless, I am researching places to go that can make homelessness a bit more bearable. I would first move to a warmer climate. Perhaps live at an airport. Or maybe head to bum heaven where you can earn more that if you worked two jobs

Never Forget

September 12th 2008 00:17
The USA is always there when other countries need our help. We even help those who hate and loath us. Today in the USA it is time to put politics aside and remember a day that will live in infamy. Yes, Americans will never forget September 11, 2001. It is here that we started knowing who our friends were both from without and within.

Some felt that 'America got it good!' as was told by those who took joy along with the Palestinians. Yes there was the vile of humanity that took pleasure of finally seeing America get it. But lets refrain from our own opinion, after all most of the world was supportive

It's Not Your Fault!

September 7th 2008 18:07
Obesity is not your fault. It's not your fault that you eat too much, don't exercise, live an unhealthy and obese lifestyle and new research proves it. Blame it on your mother. Especially if she was in some way exposed to pesticides and other pollutants. Most of us remember horror stories about DDT in the '60s! Most people worldwide have been exposed to pollutants and pesticides in some method for decades. That is why I believe this study isn't well researched.

If this study were true, it would mean that obesity would have been out-of-control in the early 1900s, when the environment was being overrun by unregulated pollutants. These pollutants were in the air from the factories. In the water from a variety of pollutants. In the food from insecticides and other chemicals. In our homes with lead paint and household cleaners. In our environment with cars, trains, planes, etc. Yet there was no obesity epidemic

America's Most Unwanted

September 1st 2008 14:07
If you are going to commit a crime that might send you to jail for a long time, you might want to do your homework first and work out any fine detail. That is always true when it comes to robbing banks. You don't want your first to be your last. At the very least you might want time to spend the money!

Take Dexter Dwayne Williams, who gets a nomination as the dumbest criminal of the year so far. It's surprising to me because I would have expected a story like this to come from The Dope Chronicles! Seems the 47 year-old passed a note to a teller and managed to run with the money. He was lucky enough to bolt and get to his car. The employees quickly locked all the doors
