Media Piranha - April 2007

Agakhan Sharief is known as a peacemaker who has brokered many truces. Sharief is running in the Philippine elections claiming he looks like Osama bin Laden. He looks like a younger, fatter and oriental bin Laden. He wouldn't even make a good Before picture of the big O.

Meet Walter Reckling a German truck driver. Because the nimrod was running late for a delivery, he decided to cook some sausages on his grill inside the cab while still driving. Yes starting a fire inside the cab while driving is always a safe thing to do. Then the greasy sausages cooking won't present any problems. He must have had the windows open, or he could have probably suffered from monoxide poisoning.

He probably should have stopped at a McDonald's, and I bet he wished he did. The genius ends up burning the truck! Being three times over the legal alcohol limit didn't help matters and may explain his stupid decision!

Weird Scenes Inside The Goldmine

April 10th 2007 22:25
For those too young to remember, Jim Morrison of The Doors exposed himself at a concert and was arrested. He also 'baptized' his fans but let's not talk about that. Fans now seek to get Morrison pardoned claiming had it happened today he would have never been arrested. Dave Diamond ironically leads the charge for the pardon right to the governor. Dave Diamond, Diamond Dave???

Are fans right? If it happened today would it be no big deal? At one time, Brian Jones of The Rolling Stones was arrested for trampling the US flag on stage(coming in Monsters of Rock blog). We can argue if exposing one's self would be more lenient today. But rock stars and celebrities do hold the advantage in a court of law.

Environmentalists often use scientific consensus to prove global warming is caused by humans. It seems that if it agrees with their cause, then it is true. If it goes against their ideology, then it isn't true! Could it be that these environmental whistle-blowers are nothing but hypocrites? Only in the eyes of the rest of us!

If it comes to global warming and they can prove that humans are the cause through science, then the word 'scientific consensus' pops up. On the other hand, if scientific consensus finds that genetically modified food is safe for human consumption, that's just crazy talk!

Islamic Vigilantes

A cleric from the Red Mosque of Islamabad has given the government notice to curb it's vices or else! They seek resolve by peaceful means but have suicide bombers and aren't affraid to use them.

Although the practices they want crush have existed for decades, it comes in light of what may be seen as the current anti West movement. On the flip side, it is nice to see that all Religions have their Pat Robertsons and Jerry Falwells!

If you ask a Catholic a question you may not get the answer you want. The second three questions about fish, Lent and meat is an interesting one. It seems odd to one who remembers fish being a staple Catholic food on Fridays, not just during Lent.

When I attended college there was a professor who spoke animately about the Catholic ban on meat on Fridays and why fish made a great substitute. His story was that a certain Pope's relative was a fisherman. Fisherman couldn't compete with other meats, so the Pope declared a day where Catholics would consume fish. Although it was once on all Fridays, it soon became only on Fridays during Lent
