Hand Gel Controversy

July 29th 2009 15:40
The Koran bans Muslims from consuming alcohol, so I've heard. I know a few that don't practice these beliefs, while Muslim-owned stores sell many an alcoholic beverage at a low price. This isn't about alcohol consumption and Islam, instead it is about how things can go to the extreme in a hurry!

Anybody who uses those anti-bacterial gels for hand cleaning knows they contain alcohol. I guess in Britain is trying to control the spread of Swine Flu and requires its use. Unfortunately, some Muslims refuse to use the alcohol-base hand gel due to beliefs. I fail to see how this is 'consumed' alcohol, and have to chock it up to non-conformists.

The argument is laughable because I have to wonder why they just don't use good old fashion S-O-A-P! I think washing hands is far better than using a dry hand-gel that is obviously making the maker rich!

Hand washing is a lost art it seems. Our manners and hygiene habits are what is spreading flus, not the non use of gels.

It is starting to come to the surface. The death of son Jett Travolta may be more then father John can take. If you ever had any doubts about the dubious nature of the Church of Scientology, John Travolta may be on the edge of insanity.

Travolta seems to be scared to leave the cult, er, ah, I mean "CHURCH"! Why? Because like any church, er, ah, I mean 'cult', will retaliate by revealing embarrassing rumors about his private life. Oh, wait...because it is a church they are not rumors but rather actual details of Travolta's private life!

Well this explains Tom Cruise!!!

Imagine...

July 24th 2009 18:44
Imagine if I came out and said "Being Bi and Female and Proud of this fact is a sick perverted concept!" No doubt the protesters would line up at my door. Imagine if I wrote that your beliefs are nothing but misconceptions and fantasies, I would probably be met by arguments and threats. Imagine if I defaced the Koran, I would probably be beheaded! Imagine that I accuse your beliefs of being fascist ideology.

People can read into things and twist them to suit their purposes. This is like a pro or con argument about global warming where each can find information to sustain their arguments. It continues to fascinate me how people have a kind of inbred hatred for the Bible, God and Christianity. To call defamation 'Art' is just a deface a Christian campaign. I haven't got a problem with 'art' involving religion. I have a problem when a particular religion is targeted because its beliefs don't correspond with your morals!

My guess is that most radicals were traumatized by their religious beliefs as a child. Most were raised Catholics or other "Christian" religion belief. They need to justify their 'sinful' ways by going on a crusade to destroy the beliefs of their childhood moral-building beliefs!

Go ahead and deface the Bible because there is no such thing as a divine strike by the Almighty entity of creation. Make sure you fight for the rights of all other beliefs that are against your beliefs, but have no perceived comment about your perverted beliefs.

There seems to be a war on Christianity in all forms. Christianity has become a target in all aspects of beliefs and the attacks are becoming 'acceptable' in today's society.

The double-standard continues!!!

A teacher who is married with children writes Christian songs on the side. Isn't that sweet? So it should really come as no surprise that she is accused of having sex with a student!

I'm out to prove that when it comes to Christians, many things are blown out of proportion with respect to other religions and ideologies. Human nature always out-powers religion and beliefs. How many times have you heard people 'brag' about how good they are, and all the good things they do, but are actually rotten to the core

Christianity Insanity

July 15th 2009 21:09
Is it any wonder that Christians always come under fire? After all when reading The Bible makes you insane, people always take notice!

It seems that the son of Jesus is seeking justice with a 2 by 4. He is attacking children and men for some insane reason

So many, a-hem, Christians have these Madonna and Jesus appearances on tree trunks, toast, grottoes, etc.! It isn't like other religions don't have their little quirks when it comes to their infallible beliefs. Apparently in Islamic cultures there is a common belief in genie. Genies are capable of demonic possession and revenge.

So what is an Islamic family to do if they encounter a genie that isn't Barbara Eden? Do what this Saudi family did and sue the imaginary genie for harassment!

Iranian Fatwa

July 13th 2009 23:03
If you thought the Iranian situation couldn't get worse, well that remains to be seen. The senior contemporary cleric has issued a fatwa against the current government. We seem to be preparing for some type of battle of the Ayatollahs. The Supreme Leader has said that the elections were legit, and this Ayatollah issuing a fatwa.

Intolerant of Intolerance

Commentary

I've seen the values and morals of Europe go down the tubes in the mid 70s. With the Cold War in full swing, there was a growing anti-American sentiment. When our then President Reagan helped knock down the Berlin Wall he helped the sewers of the East flood the proud West with a cesspool of decadence

In His Image

July 10th 2009 17:57
In Wikipedia's Freedom of speech versus blasphemy, we get an idea why religion and secular must not push their ideologies into the other's realm. Religious zealots and extremists have existed since organized religion was first founded. Fanatics tend to believe in a just cause in the name of their religious beliefs.

Once again there is a Muslim protest. Once again the protest has to do with using Mohammad. Although it isn't about an image, it's about a book. The novel about the prophet, made fanatics firebomb the author's house

No Wink From The Wussies

This is a blog crossover.

I wrote about Arabs turning a blind eye to an Israeli raid on Iran. After all, Israel's very existence may depend on it

Scientology and Cults

July 7th 2009 22:24
I was an unfortunate one to have joined the cult movements of the late-70s. Eventually, I had the guts to get out, but it was hard due to their mind control methods. Once you start questioning things and you see attitudes change, you realize the facade they hide behind. They rely on your donations which keeps them rich and you poor. The thing with cults is that within them there is a certain pecking order, and the order is based on money. The rich live high and mighty and see only the good of the cult. The poorer ones are the workers, the used, the ones who must follow rules and orders to a 'T', and still must donate a certain percentage of their pay to the cult.

In the world of Scientology, I don't think you would have a Tom Cruise-type status unless you donate millions to the, a-hem, church. You wouldn't have the privilege of John Travolta and Kelly Preston who claimed son,Jett, had Kawasaki disease rather than autism, because the church frowns on autism. Yet, Travolta told doctors in the Bahamas that his son had autism. Read about this here

Reality TV:The Love Boat

July 6th 2009 21:51
If anybody in Hollywood is looking to find the next reality TV BS, have I got a few great ones for you. I was doing some brainstorming on the popularity of Reality TV, and came up with some great titles and scenarios, based on current headlines.

The first show I can come up with will be called 'The Love Boat' and has nothing to do with that nauseating TV show. The boat is a navy ship. The love is...well read it for yourself

Convert The Atheist

July 4th 2009 23:09
Nothing like a game show where various religions try to convert the non-believers. It goes hand-in-hand with reality shows. The theme is what happens when you put an imam, a priest, a rabbi and a monk in a room with 10 atheists?

This think-tank idea comes from a Turkish TV station looking for ratings. Once converted, the now believer wins a pilgrimage to the headquarters of the faith of their choice. They are Mecca, the Vatican, Jerusalem, or Tibet

Loons Of A Feather

July 4th 2009 21:10
I didn't know nor cared about who Jon and Kate were, but apparently they are the rave of reality TV. She was like the original Octo-mom. Somehow people seem to care about their life that's one big joke. Yes, Hollywood has truly gone insane over this reality bs!

If you remember Nadya Suleman had a litter of octuplets. She was a single mom on welfare, and claimed what a struggle it would be. She shamelessly solicited funds online and was donated a house worth over a million. She also hired publicist, agents and lawyers to expand her career. Now we find a Michael Jackson connection to the octo-mom's children

War May Have Been Wrong

July 4th 2009 12:37
In order for someone to actually convince me to go against my beliefs, they must prove that their argument isn't from a political standpoint(in this case anyway). I finally have been convinced that perhaps the War in Iraq was a mistake. That is if you actually believe Saddam Hussein!

In an FBI interrogation report, Saddam claimed that he had WMDs out of fear of Iran. He was even willing to deal with the US, because he knew that Iran was the real threat

Ads From The Past

July 3rd 2009 21:22
Product ads are never what they seem to be. Sometimes we really aren't getting what we think we are, and at times we may even be in danger by using them. At one time in history we gave babies narcotics and Coca Cola contained cocaine. Cigarette ads always made it look like people enjoyed life.

Here are some ironic ads from the past. You can bet that these types of ads are still out there but are probably not as easy to detect. As with anything involving a consumer: Let the buyer beware!

It's Official

July 2nd 2009 20:56
Not only did Michael Jackson use drugs, he used aliases to get them. His drug of choice was Demerol, a drug mostly distributed in hospitals. Of course this opens an investigation that involves more than one doctor. The pharmacy, or pharmacies, involved are also being investigated.

If you followed my other MJ entries, he is appearing to be similar to Elvis in more ways than one. The circus continues and thickens
