Since they missed the obvious warning signs on the crotch bomber, the CIA is making sure that we are not caught by surprise when we face our next attack. The CIA and FBI are warning that an al-Qaeda attack on US soil is imminent. They say that it's not a matter of 'if' but rather 'when'.
They think it will happen within 6 months. Al-Qaeda has already sent operatives in the US to plan the targets and attacks. What the attacks will be remains a mystery. Al-Qaeda is also encouraging radicals to take matters in their own hands. Ft. Hood comes to mind, since Muslim extremists have been using 'lone gunmen' for years here on American soil. The crotch bomber and shoe bomber were a type of lone gunman.The object is to kill as many as possible even if it means your death.
So now we have been warned and need to be vigilant. Of what? Who knows? The story of operatives in the US have been rumored since 9/11, and an attack could happen at any time. The warnings have always been vague by never really saying what to look for.
