If some wonder why societies have a problem with the full cover Burqa used by Muslim women, then wonder no more! Some will take advantage of any situation that gives them easy access to criminal activity. You have to wonder if the robbers were men or women which would make this a double-edged sword.
In my opinion, if people truly believe in the separation of church and state, then religion should play no part in our secular societies. One can't single out one religion's symbols and turn a blind eye to others. Our societies are based on interactions and non-verbal communications which makes it hard when you can't see the face.
