Intolerant of Intolerance

I've seen the values and morals of Europe go down the tubes in the mid 70s. With the Cold War in full swing, there was a growing anti-American sentiment. When our then President Reagan helped knock down the Berlin Wall he helped the sewers of the East flood the proud West with a cesspool of decadence!
A Christian offshoot displays a sign that says Islam is of the Devil. Needless to say the sign was vandalized by the tolerant. Then we have the protest that I find funny because you always see the "Islam is the religion of peace"sign in the crowd. There is always a 'village' of children in the crowd. Many are absorbing the racist-attitudes of their tolerant parents.
...I lived in Europe back then. Today it has changed to the point that it has no more 'culture' and seems to have lost its proverbial roots. The identity is gone as are most of the traditions. Now I don't agree with the sign, BUT I wouldn't vandalize something I disagree with. That would make me intolerant. It would make me no better than them. It would be what is known as a double-standard or a do-as-I-say-not-do situation!
Why would I want to defend the targeted audience? I'm not a Muslim so I wouldn't know about true beliefs and extremists. In a local argument it was realized that Islam is peaceful towards other believers of their faith. The non-believers, well, if you lived in Europe all your life and are over 35, you see it but can't talk about it because the 'tolerant' out-number you.
People sometimes don't realize that they play into the politician's hands. If you censor one, you censor ALL! That is how 'Democracy' in a 'Republic' works! Today you go after one and tomorrow it will haunt you.
I don't agree with the 'church' posting its thoughts for public viewing by the citizens of the state. Never the less it is freedom of speech. By you denying one point of view, you set a precedent. What this means is that you get me today, it will come back to you in the future. Free Speech For All...or NONE! That is Democracy...not the do-as-I-say... crap!
Is the church wrong because the mob rules? That is a matter of interpretation and opinion. 2 Corinthians 4:4 might support its theory, but interpretation may vary, especially when twisting is involved.
My diatribe is my own opinion. Your views may vary greatly. I am tolerant of your opinions are you tolerant of mine?
