As morals become the lowest priority for humanity, we continue to become a sickened society of greed. And just as you say 'how low can it go?', it takes a turn for the worst. Family is no longer family, but vultures in search of freebies.
So how low can it go? I'm guessing we haven't seen the end of that peak, yet. A mother and son abused the mother's mom and after she died they cremated her body in a barbeque oven. Of course they continued to cash her checks, and the daughter made a piece of skull into a necklace.
They also let the mother's body lie on the bedroom floor for a week before they destroyed it. A son who lived in Southern California got suspicious and called authorities to check on hos mother's welfare. The mother and son visited the brother in September without their mother.
The weird thing is that the mother had been dead since December!
