Is it possible that this leads to this? Imagine going to your child's school play about Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and everybody plays the part of Snow White. It doesn't say if there were alleged 'boys' who played Snow White, too, but without the Dwarfs, I assume that even boys were forced to play the part.
Seems that the Japanese are becoming latent-Americans. Since the schools were probably unkind to the parents, they don't want their children to get the same perceived humiliation so they make fools of themselves. In America we try to stop kids bullying each other, but in the process the parents bully the teachers for allowing a traditional and natural 'pecking-order' to occur. This creates a bunch of selfish-ingrates-without morals-that-assume-everything -is-owed-them societies.
Why not home school your kids if you want them not to be bullied? Oh, because then you have no one to blame but yourselves when your precious kid turns into an antisocial member of society. For the Japanese it is going to be a tough call as to what this 'Monster Parent' society will lead to. If the US is any indication, the results are not good as we see a downward spiral of morals and manners and an increase in crime and shootings.
It would have been interesting to watch this play. Without a witch and the dwarfs the only triumph was for stupidity! And the monster parents speak for themselves.
