No Smoking Gun?

It is September 10, 2001 in today's world. We have once again become laxed as terrorism becomes bolder. After 9/11 there was a lot of finger-pointing to find out who was at fault. Our government claimed that it had fixed the glitches that lead to the terror disaster.
On Christmas Day 2009 we were awakened once again to the fact that are enemies can seize any opportunity, thus making a mockery out of our trusting nature. Even though the terroristic act failed, we are still told that our government had no prior knowledge on the terrorist. Once again we find agencies that had information about the terrorist didn't share it with other agencies.
Forget about the 'red flags' that were screaming that this individual may be up to no good. Although the father's warning should have been a big red flag, lets not forget that he was on a watch list(wrong list isn't an excuse), purchased his one-way ticket with cash and had no passport or luggage.
Suddenly we are seeing a rise in terrorist chatter and activity that seems determined to attack the homeland once again. A strike within the US by groups like al-Qaeda, even if minor, will be a victory to those determined to annihilate us. We can't afford our intelligent agencies to do stupid things!
