The Beginning of The End For Reality TV
June 6th 2009 17:06
Reality shows have become an icon for quite sometime now. The fascination often escapes me because I can't see what's so great if someone survives on an island, wins a celebrity contest, loses weight, lives in a haunted house, has 35 kids, is having sex in a cutthroat contest, etc.
Since reality shows exist it goes without saying that ratings are high and so is the money from their sponsors. In reality(the REAL world), Reality TV(the REEL world) is choreographed and edited like anything else on television. Yet people are fascinated by it. It doesn't bother anyone that Susan Boyle is an overnight Britney Spears? She went to mental institution and went shopping when she got out, just like Britney!
I never thought I'd see the day when the French would fire a shot at Reality TV, especially the French version of [I]Temptation Island/I]. A judge ruled that the French stars are to be paid overtime and holiday pay!
Whoops, now you hit the producers in the pocket!
So continue to watch these so called Reality shows and bring the ratings up. I enjoy not watching these shows and my TV viewing is way, way down, which is a great thing!
