Snacks in Japan sometimes comes with a mascot. These mascots might be viewed as a scary image to most and the snacks may taste like inedible sewage. Although I've never seen or had a bag of Tohato snacks the bag mascot invokes nightmare images!
The description of the snack's taste is pretty sickening...
The snacks themselves, while definitely hotter than your average spicy potato snack, just don't taste that good at all. If you vomited into a deep fryer, shaped it into a ring and added some habanero seasoning and staleness to it, you'd have this particular Tohato snack in a nutshell.
The author also hints that they are trying to establish some sort of world domination, and after viewing everything, I might agree. I think these might just become a collectors' item in the long run. I can't wait until someone tells me how healthy Japanese food is, or how efficient they are. They should be efficient with a crap diet that gives you nightmares!!!
