Decades ago, I remember a popular satirical sign that read something like this:
Think American
Buy American
Made in Japan
The sign offered an American inspiration but was made in Japan. Today we find that worldwide commerce has made it easier to make purchases beyond one's borders. It really came as no surprise to me to find 10 American icons that aren't American. Some never were while others were purchased by foreign investors.
