I Want My MTV

It's tough being an adolescent when you're at the mercy of your raging hormones. This tends to make your brain operate on auto-pilot and do stupid things. Even when a group of these 'je-neah-ses' get together they just increase in stupidity. I suppose that it is unfair to generalize in such a manner, after all there are the smart ones, too. Yes, and puberty has a way of screwing that up.
We've all been there so there is hope. Hope implies that their stupidity will eventually turn into one of life's growing experiences where we learn not to do stupid things...or at least be smart enough to cover them up!
In today's technological world the youth want to become famous, or infamous. They tape their antics in hopes of bettering themselves. As far as I can remember, it started gaining steam with the show Jackass, where PROFESSIONAL stunt people performed live stunts. Soon kids began taping themselves performing the stunts, and most with laughable and hurtful and even dire consequences. Trying to jump over a fast moving vehicle, starting themselves on fire, etc., even the friends filming and watching would laugh at the incident!
Now kids are taping fights, beatings and everything else and putting it on their MySpace or YouTube accounts. Nothing will happen, since in their minds they believe they are indestructible and invisible!
Now a group of teens films their vandalisms in hopes of getting on MTV! It just might work if the parents flip the bill!!!
